David G. Smullen, 64, of Freehold, passed away Monday, December 23rd, at Bayshore Community Hospital. David was born in Dover, Delaware on May 28, 1955. He moved to Middletown as a child and lived there most of his life before settling in Freehold over 11 years ago. David was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Freehold and considered the church community his family. He loved being involved with his church and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed being outside whether it was camping in the woods, riding his motorcycle or spending time at the beach and going on picnics with his family. He also enjoyed finding a good bargain at local flea markets and yard sales. His profession was a plumber and he worked for A-General Sewer, but he was handy with all tools and could fix just about anything.
David is survived by his mother , Beatrice V. Matick; his wife of 17 years, Rosemarie Smullen and their two children, Joshua and Mary. David also leaves behind three sisters and their husbands; Kay and Fred Golden; Judith and Bob Bloxham; Michelle and Michael Matick along with two brothers and their wives; Alan and Denise Smullen; Anthony and Marianna Matick and several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his father George D. Smullen and his brother Paul D. Smullen.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 11 am on January 4, 2020 at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 875 rt 33, Freehold.
