Beverly C. (Smith) Nelson

Beverly C. Nelson, 77, of  Middletown, peacefully passed away Saturday, January 27th, surrounded by her family at home. Beverly was born in Union Beach, a daughter of the late Margaret and Stanley Smith. She was raised in Atlantic Highlands then moved to Elizabeth before settling in Middletown 55 years ago. Beverly was one of the most requested and beloved waitresses at What's Your Beef in Rumson for many years, upon retirement she worked as a crossing guard for Middletown school system. She was a devoted member of the Belford United Methodist Church , where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years and became the Superintendant of Sunday School. Beverly enjoyed quilt making and sewing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She opened her heart and home to everyone.
   Beverly is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Richard Nelson and their three children: Chris Nelson and his wife Tara, of Maryland; Jean Manfredi and her husband Robert, of Tinton Falls; and Eric Nelson and his wife Donna, of Belford. Beverly also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson along with many other extended family members, very special neighbors and friends.
   In accordance to Beverly's wishes, there will be no funeral services, but we ask that you keep Beverly's family in your thoughts and prayers.
