Catherine Horner, 80, of Whiting, peacefully passed away Sunday, November 29th, at home with her family.
Catherine was born in Atlantic Highlands, raised in Leonardo and lived in Hazlet for several decades before retiring to Whiting 15 years ago. She was an administrative assistant at Fort Monmouth for many years, retiring in 1995. Catherine enjoyed spending time at the beach and loved the company of her pets, but most of all she adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Catherine is survived by her husband of 25 years, Lester Horner and her children; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Wayne Ecker of Brick; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Wayne and Renata Bischoff of Manasquan; John and Lisa Bischoff, of Howell. Catherine is also survived by a brother, Frederick Koenig, of Fla.; a step daughter, Jill Flanigan, three step sons George, Tom, and Wayne Horner and 13 grandchildren.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Thursday from 11- 1 pm, followed by the funeral service at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St, Belford. The entombment and committal will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
