Chester M. Swierat, Sr., 61, of Belford, passed away Thursday, June 18th. Chester was born and raised in Newark, one of 10 children born to the late Teresa and John Swierat, Sr. After living in Pennsylvania and several places briefly, Chester settled in Belford. He was working as a PC Technician for MRA International, Inc in Long Branch. Chester was a kind and caring gentleman. He could get lost for hours on his computer, but if you needed him for something, he would drop everything to be there for you. He was not much of an animal person, but he loved caring for his sister's pets while she was away. He was always there for his family. He loved to spoil his children, all his nieces and nephews and he was the proudest grandfather that one could be. He would always remember family birthdays and never missed sending a card. He enjoyed putting a smile on your face and had a great sense of humor. His genuine kindness will be missed and his passion for classic rock, appreciation for talented musicians, and love of Cyndi Lauper will carry on in our hearts.
Chester is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Banaszek and a son, Chester, Jr. He also leaves behind his brother William Swierat and 5 sisters; CeCe Kreppenneck , Eileen Swierat , Ronni DiBartolomeo , Bobbi Cardoniga , Berni (John) Santiago along with his 3 adored grandchildren; Sara Banaszek, Nathan Banaszek and Cody Cragle. Chester was predeceased by his siblings; John Swierat, Jr., Jenny Ricany and Mary Laspina
A Memorial Gathering will take place Thursday from 11am -1 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A funeral service will conclude the afternoon.
