Daniel Patrick Connolly, 65, of Port Monmouth, passed away Monday, September 4th. Daniel was born in Manhattan, NY on February 18, 1958, a son of the late Barbara and John Connolly. Most of his youth was spent in the Bronx. He moved to Old Bridge in 1989 and later settled in the Bayshore area in 1994.
Danny was a representative with Verizon for 25 years, retiring in 2007. Danny was a simple man. He loved his wife, loved his family and friends, and loved the NY Giants! He was an avid Giants fan and looked forward to attending games with his season tickets. He was a sentimental man who enjoyed spoiling his adored wife, Karen, with flowers for no special reason other than to let her know he was thinking of her. In his younger years, Danny enjoyed hunting, but later on he took up fishing instead. Danny will fondly be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen Connolly. He also leaves behind his sisters; Kathy Connolly, Christina Melander, Barbara Jean MacFie along with his brother, Scott MacFie and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was predeceased by his three brothers; his twin, Patrick; John and Kevin.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Friday from 4-8 pm and Saturday from 8:30 - 9:30 am at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Saint Catherine RC Church in Middletown, at 10 am on Saturday, September 9th followed by a private cremation.
