David R. Graves,70, a longtime resident of Keansburg, passed away at home, Wednesday, February 24th, surrounded by his family after losing his battle with cancer. David was born in Logan, West Virginia on June 26, 1950, a son of the late Annie and Edward Graves. His family moved to Keansburg when he was a boy. David was a chemical operator at Fragrance Resources in Keyport for many years, retiring in 1995. When David was not working he enjoyed watching football on the television and taking trips to Atlantic City. He was also an avid collector. He collected any type of memorabilia. Some of his larger collections included guitars, guns, statues, saddles and antique phones. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and dear friend.
David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna Graves and their two sons; David and Jason. He also leaves behind his brother, Arnold and granddaughter, Hailey. David was predeceased by his brothers Wayne and John along with his grandson Jason.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects at a graveside service on Friday, February 26th at Fairview Cemetery. The funeral procession will meet at the cemetery main entrance, off of route 35, at 1pm.
