Deborah A. Yager, 64, of Port Monmouth, passed away Thursday, March 16th. Deborah was born in Jersey City, to the late Josephine and Stephen Giza. She was raised in Cliffwood Beach and resided there until meeting her husband and moving to Port Monmouth after they married. Deborah worked as an LPN at Arnold Walter Nursing Home for 10 years and then went back to school to become a Registered Nurse and started working at Regency Park Care Center where she remained for 15 years. She was a past member of the Port Monmouth Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Catherine's Church. Deborah enjoyed baking, crocheting, spending time with her grandsons and boating with the family.
Deborah is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Elmer Yager and their three children; Melissa (Nick) Husband of North Haven, Ct., Barry (Kathy) Yager of Wall; and Elmer (Erica) Yager, of Cliffwood Beach. She also leaves behind her seven grandsons; Barry, Brandon, Elmer, Kevin, Garrett, Thomas and Nicholas. Deborah was predeceased by her brother Stephen Giza.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and again Tuesday from 8-9 am at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catherine RC Church, 9:30 am on Tuesday, March 21st. Burial and committal will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens in Hazlet.
