Donald J. Sampietro

Donald J. Sampietro, 77, a long time resident of Northvale, passed away Tuesday, March 22nd, at Lakeview Care Center in Wayne. Donald was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama. He was an engineer employed as an efficiency expert for the American Can Corporation and then the Continental Can Company. Don was a member of the National Rifle Assn, and was the leader of the "Stop the Bear Hunt" campaign in New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Erickson and his nephew Roderick Erickson. He is survived by his niece Julie Erickson and grand nephews Joseph Cheesley, Roderick Erickson II and Richard Erickson along with his former wife, Susan Rayner.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Friday from 11- 1 pm  at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford.  The funeral service will be celebrated at 1 pm in the funeral home with the committal and burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
