Doreen Liebeck Obituary

Doreen M. Liebeck, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on June 6, 1956, in Jersey City, Doreen's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of the human spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Doreen's journey through life was one of constant love and dedication. After marrying her soulmate, the late Richard Liebeck, Sr., she embraced the adventures of military life, supporting her husband while he was in the Navy. Their enduring love was the foundation upon which they built their family, and in 1982, they returned to New Jersey, making their home in Highlands, where they created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Family was the cornerstone of Doreen's world. She is survived by her loving children, Richard Jr. and his wife Lisa, and Tara Liebeck-Smith and her husband Mark. Her legacy continues through her six adoring grandchildren, Jacob Liebeck, Lucas Liebeck, Katlynn Fisher, Amy Slavinsky, Eddie Lund, and Cooper Lund, along with three great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and compassion. Doreen was a beloved sister to Charles Hudson, Maria Hughes, Denise Aquilano, and Maureen Barba. She was predeceased by her brother, Carl Hudson, Jr.

Doreen's professional life was marked by her caring nature as she served as a Certified Nurses Assistant at Bayshore Hospital. Her colleagues and patients benefited from her warmth and unwavering commitment to their well-being. Even after she became ill, Doreen's resilience and positive attitude never wavered, inspiring all who were privileged to know her.

Those who met Doreen were instantly touched by her loving presence. She had the unique ability to see the good in everyone, earning her the affectionate title of "the heart of her family." Her generous spirit extended beyond her kin, as she was a true people person, forming lasting connections with all she encountered.

Doreen's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She was an avid crafter, finding joy and fulfillment in creating beautiful things with her hands often while listening to her favorite country music. Her love for crafts and country music was only matched by her love of her family and friends. These simple pleasures brought great happiness to Doreen and those who shared in these activities with her.

To describe Doreen as loving, kind, and generous only begins to capture the essence of her character. She was a fighter, bravely battling her illnesses with a smile that could light up a room. Her positive outlook on life was infectious, and she had the remarkable ability to uplift others even in her most challenging times. She had a gift of seeing the good in everyone even when no one else saw it !!

Doreen M. Liebeck's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, kindness, and the joy of giving. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were blessed to know her. As we say farewell to this extraordinary woman, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love will endure for generations to come.
