Eleanor Chiariello Obituary

Eleanor Chiariello, a beacon of fun and laughter, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 14, 1942, in the Bronx, NY, Eleanor was the cherished daughter of the late Hans and Sophie Rytir. She spent her entire life in the Bronx, where she cultivated a community of friends and neighbors who adored her.

Eleanor's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her career, and the little things that brought her joy. She is survived by her loving daughter, Catherine McMorrow Wuench, and her son-in-law, Michael Wuench. Eleanor's legacy continues through her three grandsons, Miles, Ronan, and Casey, who brought immense happiness and pride to her life. She was a beloved sister to Ronald Rytir and was predeceased by her longtime companion, John McMorrow, in 2005.

Professionally, Eleanor's career in insurance spanned several decades. She began her journey at Commercial Union, followed by Sedgwick James, and ultimately retired from Marsh and McLennan. Throughout her career, Eleanor was known for her quick wit and no-nonsense style that made her colleagues laugh.

Eleanor's sense of humor was legendary, and her laughter was infectious. She had an unwavering love for shopping, whether it was at Dollar Tree or Nordstrom. She loved movies and TV, especially if Harrison Ford was involved, as well as watching as many Hallmark movies as possible. Eleanor also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, where she shared many fun times with friends and family. Dining out was another pleasure, especially at restaurants that served her favorite blooming onion and margaritas.

Those who knew Eleanor will remember her as caring, funny, and generous. Her memory will be treasured in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Celebration of her Life will take place at a later date.
