Ellen Knapp, 85, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, October 22nd. Ellen was born on May 19, 1938. She was raised in the Woodbridge area. After marrying, she and her husband Robert, lived in South Plainfield until 1968 when they decided to settle in Middletown to raise their family.
Ellen worked in management for the Middletown Township Housing Authority at Daniel Towers for over 20 years. Ellen always kept herself busy. In her younger years, she volunteered in the cafeteria at East Keansburg School. Ellen also enjoyed bowling, playing baseball and softball. More recently, she kept busy crocheting blankets, baby clothes and slippers for family and friends or she could be found playing bingo at local halls around town. Ellen will be remembered as a strong willed and outspoken woman, but with a heart of gold who would do anything for her family.
Ellen was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Robert Knapp, Sr. in 2017. She is survived by their children; son Robert Knapp, Jr. and his longtime companion, Tonia Flanders; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Robert Kasye; and "daughter " Kristie Kasye. Ellen also leaves behind two sisters, Evelyn "Butch" Hickey and Dolores Anselmi; 7 grandchildren; Dana, Robert "Michael", Cody, Nikki, Erin, Robert, III and Catrina, along with 7 great grandchildren; Ryan, Ronald, Kennedy, Killian, Angelica, Christopher and Bella
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service will conclude the evening and a private cremation will follow.
