Emma R. "Nikki" Anderson, 88, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, August 27th, 2019. Nikki was born in Newark, on November 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Pearl and George Sackmann. She was raised in Newark and lived in Irvington before moving to Point Pleasant in 1972. She eventually retired in Middletown 20 years ago. Nikki was a telephone operator at Bell Telephone before having her family, and later went on to work for several answering services. Nikki enjoyed spending time at home, surrounded by her family and listening to Jazz music. She was a fan of the classic crroners like Frank Sinatra, and Ella Fitzgerald. In her younger years, she was even an amateur singer herself.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph W. Fay, exactly 47 years ago, on August 26, 1972. She was also preceeded by her sisters; Pearl Ballo and Betty Balot. Nikki is survived by her 3 children; her daughter Sharon O'Brien of Roswell, New Mexico; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Andrew Warzynski of Woodbridge; and her son Joseph Fay, Jr, of Morganville. Nikki also leaves behind her sister Lori Weitzel of Murrels Inlet, South Carolina along with 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The family will celebrate her life at a private service.
