Frederick K. Boyd died on February 6, 2017 while being cared for at Bayside Manor in Keansburg, due to complications from recent surgery. Mr. Boyd was 92. Mr. Boyd was born on May 9, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents, Josephine and George A. Boyd, Jr. He graduated from Washington University, and later earned a master's degree in education from Columbia University. He retired from teaching chemistry at Raritan High School in Hazlet. Mr. Boyd also had a 15 year career with McGraw-Hill Book Co. as a science editor and marketing manager. He proudly served his country in WWII as an aviation radioman and cadet.
Mr. Boyd was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, JoAnn and his brother George Boyd III. Mr. Boyd is survived by his son Bruce of Red Bank; son and daughter-in-law Bradley and Susanne of Neptune City; grandson Robert Boyd; daughter and son-in-law Tracey and Louis Ricchione of Middletown; granddaughter Nicole and husband Sean O'Connor; grandson James Ricchione and fiancée Samantha Bradley.
