Gary C. Finnegan, 69, a lifelong resident of Belford, passed away Sunday, February 26th, at Riverview Medical Center. Gary was born in Long Branch, NJ on May 29, 1953, a son of the late Janet and Thomas Finnegan. Friends and family affectionately referred to him as "The Gar." Gar owned and operated GCF Powerwashing for the past 20 years. Gar grew up with horses in the backyard and always enjoyed being around them. He spent a lot of time at Monmouth Park. He actually adored all animals, especially his cats and raccoons. Gar liked to go out and socialize with his friends and family, but he was just as happy to stay home and watch 60 Minutes. He will always be fondly remembered as a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Gary is survived by his 6 siblings: two sisters, Kathleen Brossa, Karen Finnegan (Timothy McVay) along with four brothers, Craig (Melissa) Finnegan, Richard Finnegan, Michael (Diana) Finnegan, and Peter (Laurie) Finnegan. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother David.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
