James Lamar, 31, a lifelong resident of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, February 15th. James worked in construction. He enjoyed working with his hands, fixing cars or fixing homes. He helped rebuild many homes in the area after hurricane Sandy. He was always a straight A student in school. He played soccer and basketball. He was very competative, whether it was in academics or sports. He received a scholarship to Rutgers where he studied micro electrical engineering. James loved the sciences especially physics. He also spoke French, enjoyed poetry, and working out at the gym.
James is survived by his parents Carol Lamar of Middletown and James Lamar of Whiting along with his brother Joseph Lamar of Middletown and his sister Carol-Ann Lamar of Whiting. James also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Monday from 4-8 pm and again Tuesday from 8-9 am at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catherine RC Church, Middletown, at 9:30 am on Tuesday, February 21st . Burial and committal will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Middletown.
