James H. Myers, 94, a lifelong resident of Leonardo, passed away Thursday, February 8th. Born in Long Branch to the late Harry and Carol Myers, James was raised in Leonardo, proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army, and then returned to New Jersey where he worked for JCP&L. After 35 years, he retired as a General Foreman in 1981. James enjoyed gardening, traveling and vacationing at his lake house in New York State . He considered his home in Three Mile Bay, NY his "Official address" since that is where he loved to be the most.
James was predeceased by his first two wives, Florence in 1973 and Mary in 1988. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Beatrice and his daughters Jean (Joe) Koeppel of Leonardo and Judy Kraft of Easton, Pa. James also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Tracy Kraft, David (Olga) Kraft, Rachel (Bill) Ganley, Rebecca (Greg) Coffman, and Peter (Rosalie) Koeppel along with 9 great grandchildren.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Tuesday from 9-11 am followed by the funeral service at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford. the burial and committal will follow at Farmingdale Evergreen Cemetery in Farmingdale, NJ.
