Jeffrey Scott Gardner

Jeffrey Scott Gardner, known to family and friends as Jeff, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, after many years of battling epilepsy. He was born on January 13, 1981, in Long Branch, a son of the late John and Patricia Gardner, and he lived in Highlands most of his life.

Jeff was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey, Jr., and his stepchildren, Kyra-Jo Mosca and Matteo Mosca, along with their mother, Erica Mosca. He also leaves behind his two brothers and best friends, John (Kelly) Gardner and Jake Gardner, and four nephews, Johnny, Jr., Owen, Aidan, and Finn. Jeff cherished his family deeply, and the bonds he shared with them were among the greatest joys of his life.

Jeff worked in construction for many years with M & C Contracting, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature. He took pride in his work and valued the friendships he made along the way. When epilepsy made it difficult for him to continue working, he faced that challenge with courage and dignity, never losing the strength of spirit that defined him.

A true homebody at heart, Jeff loved nothing more than being with his family. He often credited his mother for instilling in him the family values that guided his life. His brothers were his best friends, and his son, whom he lovingly called “Stinker,” was his universe. Jeff could often be found sitting on his front porch listening to music, enjoying the simple moments that meant the most to him. He had a deep love for sports and proudly said that he bled blue, remaining a diehard Yankees and Giants fan throughout his life.

Jeff will be remembered for his funny personality, his courageous heart, and the loving way he cared for the people closest to him. He had a gift for lighting up a room with his humor and his easygoing spirit, and his presence brought comfort and joy to many. Those who knew him will remember his laughter, his loyalty, and the way he made others feel welcome and valued.

Though his passing leaves a deep void, Jeff’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. His life was one of devotion to family, perseverance through hardship, and a genuine love for the people and things that mattered most to him. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered with love and gratitude.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, June 21st from 2-4 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service will conclude the afternoon.
