Jerry W. Brown, 75, a longtime resident of Belford, passed away Sunday, September 3rd. Jerry was born in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma on October 24, 1941, a son of the late Vivian and Walter Brown. Jerry was raised in Oklahoma and joined the U.S.Air Force when he was 19. He was stationed at The Highlands Air Force Station at the Twin Lights. After his discharge, Jerry settled down in Belford. Jerry was a supervisor for National Lead in Sayreville for many years until their closing. He then went to work for Massaro Bros. Construction until his retirement. Jerry was a member of the American Legion and played poker at the VFW. He was an avid sports fan. He rooted for the NY Mets and the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, trips to Atlantic City and Monmouth Park.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Karen L. Brown. He also leaves behind a daughter, Jessica L. Brown, of Belford; three sons , Jarrett L. Brown, of Belford; Scott Brown, of Las Vegas; Steven Brown, of Montvale; and a step son, Craig Wulff along with two sisters, Sondra (Frank) Seppe, of Las Vegas; Debbie Wadley; a brother, Steven Brown, both of Oklahoma and two grandsons; Alex and Travis. Jerry was predeceased by his sister Brenda McCorkle and brother Dwight Brown
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford. The funeral service will conclude the evening and a private cremation will follow.
