John J. DeRosa, 41, of Atlantic Highlands, passed away Thursday, November 9th. John was born in Montclair, the son of Patricia and Raymond DeRosa. John was raised in Rutherford before moving to the Bayshore area in 1994. John worked as an electrician foreman with Freedom Electric and belonged to the Electrical Workers of America Local 363. John enjoyed camping and being in the outdoors. He also liked to watch baseball and was a fan of the Mets. During football season he rooted for the Jets. John was particularly proud of his trade as an electrician and has mentored many over the years.
John is survived by his wife Meaghan and daughter Hailee DeRosa. Along with his parents, he leaves behind his sister Lisa LaPelusa, her husband Paul and their daughter Angelyna. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Erick Claxton , many extended family members and friends.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Tuesday from 5-8 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford. The evening will conclude with a Service of Remembrance and a private cremation will take place Wednesday.
In Lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations to help with funeral expenses.
