Joseph R. Colletti, 66, of Toms River, passed away Tuesday, October 24th, at his home. Joseph was born in Newark, NJ on November 24, 1956, a son of the late Julia and Salvatore Colletti. He lived most of his life in the Middletown area before retiring to Toms River 6 years ago.
Joe worked in construction throughout New Jersey. He loved music. Joe played the organ, enjoyed singing and even wrote songs. He had a beautiful singing voice and sounded just like Elvis. He was also a wonderful cook. His family and friends always looked forward to meals when Joe was cooking. Joe said he would never leave New Jersey because he enjoyed the beaches too much. A few years ago, his daughters surprised him with flying lessons. It was always a dream of his to learn to fly a plane. He was thrilled when his instructor let him fly the plane on his own. Joe will fondly be remembered as a big-hearted man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bonnie Colletti, and their 3 children; Danielle Colletti and her husband Frank Nuqui; Kiera Colletti, and Salvatore Colletti. He also leaves behind his 3 adored grandchildren; Kian Nuqui, Aurora Nuqui, and Liabella Sullivano
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service will conclude the evening around 7:30 pm and a private cremation will follow.
