Juana S. Ayala (nee Floril) passed away on March 25, 2024, at the age of 92 surrounded by her family at home. She was born on July 11, 1931, in Guayaquil, Ecuador to the late Rosa and Eduardo Floril. Juana came to America in 1968 and resided in the Bronx, NY, where she worked as a nurse for nearly 20 years before moving to Middletown with her family 40 years ago.
Juana was known for her kindness, love, and caring nature towards others. Juana's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Rosa Acosta; son, Leonard (Evis) Acosta; brother, Manuel Floril; 6 grandchildren: Johanna (Daniel) Hegeman, Joel, Stephanie, Erica, Khristine (Eric) Valcin, Khristian; and 4 great-grandchildren: Giovanna, Camila, Jacob, and Jeremy.
Juana was predeceased by her husband, Miguel Ayala, their grandson Joshua Nevarez, and her brother, Francisco Floril.
In her free time, Juana enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her loved ones. If you stopped by her home, you could be sure she would have a hot meal waiting for you. She also loved to read and listen to music from her youth.
A Memorial Gathering in memory of Juana will be held on Saturday, April 6th, from 3 - 5 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Service of Remembrance will conclude the afternoon.
