Judy Tomasulo, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on the 26th of May, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on February 10, 1946, in Port Au Spain, Trinidad, a daughter of the late Henry and Sylvere Paglione. Judy's life was a testament to her selfless nature and her unwavering dedication to her family and profession. Judy came from Trinidad as a young girl and her family settled in Union City. She graduated from Ridgefield Park High School and then went on to St. Mary's Nursing School in Hoboken and the New Jersey City University where she received her BS/RN. Judy then moved to North Arlington where she met her late husband John. They decided to raise their family in Highlands and moved here in 1989.
Judy's journey began as a young woman with a passion for helping others, which led her to a fulfilling career in nursing. She served with compassion and excellence at several healthcare facilities throughout her life. Judy's commitment to care was most notably recognized during her tenure at Atlantic Highlands Nursing Home, where she retired following the institution's closure. Her colleagues revered her for her warmth and professionalism, and many patients found comfort in her presence during their most vulnerable moments.
Beyond her professional life, Judy's heart was anchored in the joys of her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John Tomasulo, in 2001, with whom she shared a life filled with cherished memories. Her legacy of love is carried on by her devoted daughter, Nicole McClintick;, her step-daughter, Georgeanne Babb; her step-son Robert Tomasulo; her adored granddaughter Katelynn Onulak with husband Jordan Onulak and great-granddaugther Ellie Jean Onulak; Grandsons Aaron, Jayden and Kadence Babb; Judy's sister, Mary Wallace, also survives her, with husband Greg Wallace and nephews Steven and Christoper and neice Emily Wallace.
Judy's role as a matriarch extended beyond traditional boundaries. She played the role of Mother to so many children and always had room in her heart for one more. Her influence shaped the lives of her family, instilling values of love, kindness, and selflessness.
A woman of many interests, Judy's love for travel took her around the world in her younger years. She delighted in the rich tapestry of cultures and experiences that travel afforded her, always returning with stories and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of our world. However, no matter how far she roamed, Judy's heart remained firmly rooted with her family, who were her greatest joy and most important adventure.
Those who knew Judy would describe her as the epitome of love and kindness. She approached life with a selfless spirit, always placing the needs of others before her own. Judy's presence was a comforting embrace to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her smile, her gentle touch, and her nurturing ways will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched.
As the sun sets on a life so beautifully lived, we bid farewell to Judy Tomasulo, not with heavy hearts but with gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her. Her journey on this earth may have ended, but her story continues through the countless lives she has influenced. Judy's memory will live on as a reminder of the profound impact one life, lived with love and kindness, can have on the world.
In honoring Judy's life, we reflect on the precious moments, the lessons learned, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy is a tapestry of warmth, generosity, and compassion that will be cherished by her family and all who knew her. Judy Tomasulo's life was a gift, and her memory a treasure that will be held in our hearts forever.
