Kathi, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on September 1, 1945, in Long Branch, New Jersey, Kathi was the daughter of Michael Joseph Heinlein Sr. and Dorothea Alice Guttormsen. She lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and devotion.
Kathi was the devoted wife of the late Frank Joseph Micalizzi Jr and the proud mother of eight children: Frank III (Beth), Andrew (Tracy), Marc (Dawn), Elizabeth, David (Kelli), Matthew, Stephen (Raquel), and Kenneth (Tiffany). Her greatest joy in life was her family, and her love continues through her 12 cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Wherever she called home was a place of comfort, warmth, and love — a gathering place where everyone felt welcome. She had a special bond with her “grand-puppies,” who brought her endless happiness and always managed to put a smile on her face.
Kathi will be remembered for her selflessness, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved most including God. Her laughter, wisdom, and nurturing presence will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
She will be joining her beloved husband Frank and her great-granddaughter Molly Jane, who surely welcomed her with open arms.
Kathi will be deeply missed and forever loved — gone but never forgotten.
Friends and Family may pay their respects on Thursday, October 2nd from 5 - 7 pm and on Friday from 9 - 10 am at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. The Burial and Committal will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
