Kathleen M. (Groom) Gernhart

Kathleen M. Gernhart, 75, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, January 9th, at home. Kathleen was born in Trenton, on January 1, 1947, the only child of the late Catherine and William  Groom. Kathleen lived in Hamilton all her life, and only moved to Middletown 3 years ago. She was an executive assistant at the N.J. Department of Transportation for many years. When she was not working, Kathleen enjoyed spending time at home with her family and her dog, Penny. Kathleen had a loving spirit and a kind heart, and will forever be missed by those who love her. She will fondly be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.

    Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Frederick  Gernhart, Sr. in 2007, their son Frederick, Jr. in 2008 and her grandson Richard Ford, Jr. in 2018.

    She is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Ford and six grandchildren; Brian, Matthew and Kassidy Ford along with Nicole, Jessica and Thomas Gernhart.

    A Memorial Service may be planned for a later date.
