Laura (Molina) Velez

Laura Velez, 92, of  Conifer Village in Atlantic Highlands, passed away Sunday, June 14th at home with her devoted family by her side. Laura was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on May 7, 1928,one of five daughters born to the late Manuela  and Confesor  Molina. Laura married the love of her life, Raul Velez, August 8, 1955 and shortly after came to America. They settled in Brooklyn for 20 years and then moved to Central Islip where they lived for 37 years before retiring to Conifer Village 12 years ago.  Laura was a proud wife and mother and lived to take care of her family.
   Laura is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Raul Velez and their two daughters and sons-in-law; Yvonne and Jorge Velez-Flores and Laura and Armondo Mandes along with her granddaughter Marilyn Mandes-Zino and her husband Brian. She was predeceased by her 4 sisters; Maria Antonia Soto, Antonia Maria Feliciano, Illuminada Molina and Lousia Rodriguez
  Friends and family may pay their respects Monday from 11 - 12 noon at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals immediately followed by the funeral service. A private cremation will follow.
