Linda McShane Obituary

Linda McShane, 76, formerly of Keansburg, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Bayshore Medical Center. Born in NYC to the late John and Catherine Moore. She moved to Keansburg when she was 20 years old and settled there for the rest of her life only retiring to Hazlet last year.
Working as a secretary in the late 60s and early 70s, Linda became a stay at home mom for many years, after meeting and marrying the love of her life Kevin in 1972. Upon returning to the workforce and some odd jobs, the bulk of her professional career was spent as Operations Mgr for two stock brokering companies. In her spare time, she served on the PTA for her children’s school for several years including a term as its President. Those in the St. Ann’s family will fondly remember her and the other parents performing on stage for the annual festivals.
Known for her loud laughter, unfiltered blunt speech, and general good humor, she held company wherever she was and that good nature was infectious. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She had no greater joy and happiness in her life than spending time with her grandchildren and loved to share their experiences and accomplishments.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Elizabeth (Betty), a brother Kevin, her husband of 45 years Kevin, her “daughters” Diane McShane, whom she loved so dearly and called themselves the Outlaws not the in-laws, and Laura Sturgis.
Surviving are her son Christopher McShane Sr.and his companion Dayana, daughters and sons-in-law; Jennifer and Steve Ackerman , Deborah and Anthony Fentress, her brother John Moore, a brother in law Donald McShane (Jean), her six grandchildren who were her world: Christopher Jr, Kiernan, Frankie, Josie, Draven, and Imara, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Thursday from 5 - 8 pm and Friday morning from 8:30 am - 9:30 am at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am on Friday at Saint Ann's Church and the entombment and Committal Services will follow at St Joseph's Cemetery in Keyport.
