Marie Jean-Philippe Obituary

Marie Jean-Philippe, a vibrant soul full of boldness and a passion for life, passed away at her home on July 26, 2024, at the age of 52. Born on December 12, 1971, in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, Marie's infectious spirit and loving nature were evident from an early age. She was a cherished mother, sister, aunt, and friend, leaving a legacy of love and vibrant memories.

Marie's journey brought her from the warm Caribbean to Queens, NY when she was 16 years old. She lived in Pleasantville for several years before she settled in Belford to raise her family, 24 years ago. As the owner-operator of Splish Splash Laundromat, she infused her establishment with her personal touch, creating not just a place of business, but a community hub where all were welcomed with her radiant smile.

Her life was a tapestry of rich experiences and passions. Marie had an exquisite taste in fashion, which was apparent to anyone who knew her. Her sense of style was matched only by her love for traveling, where she sought adventure around the world. She believed in living life to the fullest, whether she was exploring new destinations, exercising, or dancing the night away.

Marie's musical tastes were as eclectic as her interests, ranging from the powerful ballads of Celine Dion to the romantic melodies of Julio Iglesias, and the pop anthems of Lady Gaga. She found joy in singing along to her favorite tunes, and her voice was a familiar and beloved sound to those closest to her.

Above all, Marie was a devoted mother to her four daughters: Stacy Jean-Philippe, Michaella Burke, Tatyana Burke, and Laylah Burke. She instilled in them her courageous spirit and her loving heart. Her guidance was a compass that led them through life's challenges and celebrations. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Lina, and is survived by her many siblings, nieces, nephews, and her beloved dogs, Onyx and Opal.

Those who knew Marie would describe her as daring, vivacious, and loving. She approached every day with a zest for life that was contagious. Her spirit was indomitable, her laughter unforgettable, and her capacity to love knew no bounds.

Marie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Her life was a testament to the beauty of embracing each moment with passion and joy. We will forever cherish the memories she has given us, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.

Marie Jean-Philippe's life was a journey of love, laughter, and adventure. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the extraordinary life she led. Her story does not end here, for she has left an indelible mark on the world, and her memory will always be with us.
