Michael J. Nesfield, 57, of Keansburg, passed away Saturday, December 26th. Michael was born and raised in Hell's Kitchen, NYC, a son of the late Dorothy and Harold "Sonny" Nesfield. His family spent summer vacations in Keansburg in the early 60’s and permanently moved here in 1977. Michael was a commercial mover and worked with Teamsters Local 814 out of New York City for several years.
Michael has had diabetes since he was 8 years old, that next summer he attended Camp NYDA (New York Diabetes Association) He attended that camp every year until he was 22 years old. He went from a camper to a counselor and still kept in contact with the friends that he made there. Mike was an avid NY Rangers and NY Jets fan. Luckily, Christina and Connor are good cooks, because Mike was also a huge fan of eating! Michael was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge 2179 for 37 years. Anyone who knew Mike, knew what a happy-go-lucky attitude he had. No matter what life threw at him, he never complained and always had a huge smile on his face.
Michael is survived by his fiancée and devoted companion of 26 years, Christina Crawford and son, Connor Dillon. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marybeth Nesfield of Middletown ; sister-in-law, Geraldine Nesfield of Nevada, nieces; Lauren Ruzzano and family of Hazlet, Tierny Nesfield (also Mike's Goddaughter) of Brick and her fiancé Joe, and Carissa Nesfield of Nevada. Mike also leaves behind his brother and sister in life, Kenny and Tammy Walters and many other dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother James Nesfield
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Funeral Service will conclude the evening and a private cremation will follow.
