Richard E. Colacchio, 71, of Keansburg, peacefully passed away Wednesday, January 31st at Care One at King James. Richard was born and raised in North Jersey, a son of the late Sara and Eugene Colacchio. He was an accountant at several North Jersey companies and retired from Petri Industries in Secaucus after many years of service. After retiring, Rich traveled the country and lived in Arizona for a bit where he worked at probably his favorite job he ever had, as a security officer at the Pioneer Hotel and Gambling Hall in Reno, Nevada. He moved back home and to Keansburg 3 years ago. Rich loved Elvis Presley and listening to his music. He was also an avid Giants fan, but his favorite pastime was thoroughbred racing at Monmouth Park.
Richard is survived by his companion of many years, Kathleen Colacchio, of Keansburg along with his daughter, Jaclyn Colacchio, of Union Beach; son Richard Jr., of California; and son, Mark Anthony, of Nevada. Richard also leaves behind his brother , Eugene Colacchio and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass with be held in Richard's memory on his birthday. 8 am Wednesday, February 28th at St. Ann's Church in Keansburg.
