Ruth Ann Richardett, 95, formerly of Belford, peacefully passed away Sunday, January 22nd. Ruth Ann was born in Swedesboro, New Jersey on September 28, 1927, a daughter of the late Nellie and Joseph Bratton. She was raised in Swedesboro. After marrying the love of her life, Rev. Fred Richardett on June 10, 1951, they lived in several towns where he was called to be pastor of a church. They lived in Old Bridge, Howell and Belford before retiring to Toms River 25 years ago. Ruth Ann was a registered nurse and worked in the health center at Squibb Pharmaceuticals in New Brunswick for several years.
Ruth Ann spent most of her time with her husband, Fred and their family. Ruth Ann participated in the craft group at church and was part of the Mary Martha Circle. Ruth Ann was always well put together in a nice outfit and hair done and would often surprise people with her spunkiness and quick wit. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Ruth Ann was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Frederick Richardett, Jr. in 2018 and their son, Frederick Richardett, III. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Michael Shamey. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Judith Richardett and 4 grandchildren; Bryan (Lizi) Shamey, Kristen (Jason) Peterson, Tyler (Rhianna) Richardett and Tanner Richardett along with 2 great grandchildren; Alana Peterson and Kayden Shamey.
Ruth Ann was the last of the 6 Bratton children and was predeceased by siblings; Charlotte, Bette Jane, Joseph, Carl and Robert Bratton
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Thursday from 5 - 8 pm and Friday from 9 - 10 am just prior to the 10 am funeral service at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. The Burial and committal will follow at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ.
