Sandra (Kirtland) Robinson

Sandra (Kirtland) Robinson, 72, of Toms River, peacefully passed away Monday, February 12th, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Sandy was born in Miami, Fl to Kathryn Kirtland and the late George Winston Kirtland. Sandy and her family lived in several parts of the country.  After marrying the love of her life, Sandy and Herb eventually settled in Ocean County in 1973. Sandy was a Special Education Teacher at Toms River High School East for 26 years before retiring in 2008 to spend time with her grandchildren whom she adored.  Sandy left everything better than she found it and everything she did, she did well. She loved music and singing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines for several years. Sandy also enjoyed gardening, RV'ing and reading. Sandy loved colors, sparkles and eye-catching clothing, shoes and nails, much to the delight of her grandchildren.  She often wore a splash of color in her hair to match her colorful personality.
  Sandy is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Roland (Herb) Robinson, her mother Kathryn Kirtland of Manchester;  her daughter, Melissa Robinson Goad, and her husband Brian Goad, of Califon; and her son, Eric and his wife Maribel Robinson, of Monroe Twp. Sandy also leaves behind two brothers, "Kirt"  Kirtland and his wife Delene of Ohio and  Christopher Kirtland and his wife Paula of Oklahoma; along with 4 grandchildren;  Katie and Dory Goad, and Tyler and Logan Robinson, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   A Memorial Gathering from 10 - 11am will be followed by a Memorial Service, on the weekend of Herb and Sandy's 50th Wedding Anniversary; Saturday, March 10th at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1040 Hooper Ave, Toms River. Friends are then invited to stay after the Service and join the family for a reception in the church's fellowship hall.
