Shawn A. Palermo, a man known for his adventurous spirit and friendly demeanor, passed away on June 6, 2025, at the age of 43. Born on June 4, 1982, in Long Branch, New Jersey, Shawn was a lifelong resident of the Middletown area before he made his final home in Toms River five years prior to his passing.
Raised in Belford, Shawn was the beloved son of Anthony Palermo and the late Carol Palermo, who predeceased him in 2019. He was a cherished brother to his sister, Chelsea, and his nephew Joel Palermo, with whom he was very close. Shawn's absence will be deeply felt by his family, including many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will remember him fondly for his warmth and the joy he brought into their lives.
Shawn's educational journey began at St. Mary's School and culminated in his graduation from Mater Dei High School in New Monmouth. His academic achievements laid the foundation for what would become a successful career as the owner and operator of Palermo Associates, a construction company that not only showcased his handy skills but also his dedication to his craft.
Those who knew Shawn understood his passion for life, which was most evident in his love for travel. An avid traveler, Shawn took great pleasure in exploring new places and capturing their essence through his photography. His adventurous nature led him to many corners of the country, and his photographs serve as a testament to the beauty he found in his journeys.
Shawn's friends and colleagues will remember him as a hard worker who took immense pride in his business. His ability to forge lasting relationships was a testament to his friendly nature, and his handiness made him the go-to person for anyone in need of assistance.
As we say goodbye to Shawn, we celebrate a life lived with enthusiasm and kindness. His adventurous soul, friendly smile, and handy talents have left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Shawn A. Palermo will be missed, but the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends for years to come.
