Stanley J. Urbine, 98, of Belford, passed away Sunday, March 19th. Stan was raised in Hillside and moved to Belford in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Over the years he had several positions in sales. He worked for the Pfeiffer Meat Company in Newark and Purelator in Rahway. Stan was a life member and past Commander of the VFW Post 2179 in Port Monmouth. He was also their Bar Chairman and past Seam Squirrel for the Military Order of Cooties, Pup Tent 38, and a member of the American Legion post 515.
Stan was predeceased by his wife Florence in 1996 and his son Jeffrey in 2010. He is survived by his three children; John Urbine of Belford, James (Donna) Urbine of Freehold and Joan (JR) Rugge of Somerdale. Stan also leaves behind his sister Amelia "Millie" Stukes of Ga., his companion Gloria Frascino, 9 grandchildren; John II, Christopher, Gregory, Sara, Michael, David, Nathan, Steven and Katherine. 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Thursday from 8-9 am at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Thursday at Saint Catherine's Church in Middletown. Burial and committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown.
