Stephen N. Grand, 83, of Atlantic Highlands, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, September 22nd. Stephen was born in Velke Trakany, Czechoslovakia on May 20, 1937, a son of the late Margaret and Stefan. He emigrated to America in 1983 with his wife and daughter. They lived in Highland Park and then Edison for 25 years before moving in with their daughter and family 2 years ago. Stephen held many jobs. He enjoyed working and keeping busy. He was a photographer and taught driver's education, but his true calling was a Philanthropist and author. Stephen wrote and published 3 books. He wanted to make society a better place through educating and opening the mind.
Stephen is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Valerie and their daughter Lea, along with her husband Gerard and children David and Tessa , of Atlantic Highlands. Stephen also leaves behind his brothers; Viktor and Julius, and sisters; Marta and Eva, all back in Slovokia.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Committal Service at 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 26th at Holmdel Cemetery. We will be gathering in the mausoleum chapel at the Holmdel Rd., main entrance of the cemetery.
