Steven R. Chaney, 68, of Port Monmouth, passed away Monday, September 27th. Steven was born in Red Bank on December 4, 1952, a son of the late Ann and Renard Cheney. Steven has lived in the Bayshore area his entire life. He lived in the Highlands and Atlantic Highlands before retiring to Port Monmouth 4 years ago. Steven was a picture framer at Gallery Jupiter in Little Silver. He loved his work! When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time at home with his family. He was very artistic and enjoyed music. In his younger years, he played drums and was a roadie for the Castle Brown Band in the 70's. He will always be fondly remembered as a loving and caring gentleman, who will be greatly missed.
Steven is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathryn (Doremus) Chaney and his children; Steven F. Chaney, Ryan P. Chaney, Deidre Chaney and Jeri Ann Doremus. He also leaves behind three sisters, Diane Chaney, Carol Deckert, Alberta Chaney; two brothers, Scott Chaney, Danny Chaney and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Chaney.
