Susane Lyn (Sigler) Comine

Susane Lyn Comine, 70, of Hazlet, passed away on July 29, 2026, at Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital. Born on January 10, 1956, in Long Branch, she was raised in Middletown, a daughter of the late Charles and Barbara Sigler. She lived in the Bayshore area her entire life and settled in Hazlet after marrying her husband, Jerome, in 1976. Susane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around the people she loved. She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Jerome Comine, in 2005, and by her sister, Romaine Whalen. She is survived by her two daughters, Diana Comine, who was not only her daughter but also her best friend and partner in life, and Jennifer Comine and her companion, Gage Burbank. She also leaves behind her four adored grandsons, Dylan, Tyler, Lucas, and Logan, who were the light of her life. In addition, she is survived by her twin sister, Sharon Rotundo, her sister, Pam Yurko, and her brother, Charlie Siegler. She will also be dearly missed by her beloved dog, Bailey who was always at her side. 

Susane worked alongside her husband at General Motors in Linden for 15 years before continuing her career at the Cross Group, where she served as a secretary for 10 years. She later started her own cleaning business, demonstrating the same determination and work ethic that guided her throughout life. When her grandsons came along, she embraced her most cherished role as a full-time grandma and helped raise the boys with the same love, patience, and devotion that defined everything she did.

Family was first and foremost to Susane. She was proud of her family and her home, and she created a warm and welcoming place where everyone felt comfortable. She was the matriarch of the family. Her home was always open, and all the neighborhood children called her Grandma. She was known as “Susie Fix-it” because she always had a project underway around the house. Whether she was planting, painting, or repairing something, she always found a way to stay busy and make things better. She loved entertaining in the summer by the pool and barbecuing for family and friends, and she took great joy in making sure everyone around her was cared for.

Susane had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was happiest when she was taking care of someone, and that caring nature extended to everyone she met. She doted on her grandsons, but her kindness reached far beyond her family. She was the kind of person who would even make lunches for her garbage man because she did not want him to go hungry. She was a great storyteller and often embellished her stories, always with charm and personality. She was extremely honest and never hesitated to share her opinion, but she did so in a kind and respectful way.

She loved living near the beach, and she enjoyed gardening and keeping her home beautiful. Above all else, she loved being a grandmother and was immensely proud of her grandsons. She was proud to be an army grandma, supporting her firstborn grandson Dylan in all his endeavors in the U.S. army. Those who knew Susane will remember her as loving, kind, handy, with a generous spirit and a strong sense of family. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to those around her, and her memory will be treasured always.

In keeping with the way Susane lived her life, always putting others first, she did not want people fussing over her. There will be a private family viewing and private cremation.
