Thomas R. Boesch, 74, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, August 17th. Thomas was born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 29, 1949, a son of the late Marilyn and Robert Boesch. Tom was raised in Middletown and has spent the past 50 years in Wisconsin before returning to New Jersey this past November. Tom was an engineering technician for General Electric.
Tom loved music and was a gifted musician. He played many instruments from drums to guitar. He started his career playing in the band, The Mates, along with his friend and neighbor, Steve Van Zandt. Over the years Tom played in several bands, the most recent band was Surrender Dorthy. Tom wrote many of his own songs. He was a creative and artistic person in general. He had an extensive collection of musical instruments, especially guitars. Besides music, Tom also liked motorcycles. He enjoyed riding his Harley in his free time. Tom will be fondly remembered as a musician, a bit of a jokester, a loving father, brother and uncle, but mostly as a really nice guy who would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it.
Thomas is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lara and Andrew Hilton along with their daughter, Emily. He also leaves behind two sisters; Joan (Jimmy) Jorgensen and Maureen Volin along with many nieces, nephews and their children.
Family and close friends will celebrate his life at a later date.
