Veronica F. Kane, 74, of Port Monmouth, formerly of Keansburg, passed away Saturday, February 24th. Veronica was born in New York, on February 15, 1944, a daughter of the late Elizabeth and James Kane. Her family moved to Keansburg when Veronica was just an infant and she chose to live most of her life there until she moved in with her sister, Cathy, 12 years ago. Veronica was an administrative assistant to the Vice President of AT&T which then became Lucent Technologies. She worked there for 29 years before retiring. She was a parishioner and very involved at St Ann's Parish. She was a member of their Alter Rosary Society, sang in the choir and always volunteered wherever she was needed.
Veronica was predeceased by her parents and her sister Mary. She is survived by her two sisters and their husbands, Cathy and Charlie Rogers, of Port Monmouth; Patricia Ann and Ken Durling, of Dover, Delaware;
and her brother and his wife, James "Kane" and Peg Kane, of New Orleans. Veronica also leaves behind 18 nieces and nephews; Martha, Lori, Beth, Margaret, Sharon, Susan, Kelly, Kendra, Ken, Charles, Billy, Jimmy, P.J., Robert, Brandon, Dillon, Sean, Chris and several great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will take place Sunday, March 4th from 2-4 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford. A Funeral Service will conclude the afternoon.
