Vincent R. Dacimo, 78, of Belford, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 24th, at home surrounded by his family. Vince was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 12, 1943, a son of the late Concetta and Ralph Dacimo. He was raised in Brooklyn and after marrying, moved to Jersey City then in 1972, they settled in Belford to raise their family. Vince proudly served his country during the Vietnam War stationed in Germany with the US Army. Vince then worked as a carpenter for the New York City Transit Authority for many years. Vince was a diehard Mets fan and he could be heard for miles "cheering" them on. "Wait till next year!" He also enjoyed day trips to Atlantic City, always looking for "the big win!" But most of all, Vincent will always be remembered as the devoted man who spent his life caring for his family. His children were his everything and his grandchildren were an even finer gift.
Vincent is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia (Nagle) Dacimo. He was also the loving and proud father of Edward Dacimo and Laurie Dacimo Champon and grandfather of three; Patty Lauren, Christian James, and Victoria Alexis Champon. He also leaves behind his loving sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Michael Saudino, a niece and grand-niece. "We all love you, Pa." " Miss you, Woof!"
See you again, Peace in God's arms.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Friday, July 30th from 11 - 1pm. A Funeral Service will follow at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. The Burial and committal will take place at Bayview Cemetery.
