Wayne Louis Richmond, Sr., 66, a lifelong resident of Belford, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 1st, during a hunting trip. Wayne was a fourth generation commercial fisherman who caught lobster, conch and clams for the Belford Seafood Co-op. His family had several boats over the years, most recently the "Second Wind" and the "Norma Joy." Besides his fishing career, Wayne enjoyed hunting. He was an avid outdoorsman. In most recent years, spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, was his favorite pastime.
Wayne is survived by two daughters, Holly Richmond, of Hazlet and Alexandra Cruz, of Marlboro; along with two sons Wayne Jr., of Jersey City; and Eugene, of Keansburg. He is also survived by two sisters, Diane Randolph, of MD; Janice Richmond, of Plumbstead Twp.; two brothers, Gerald, of Red Bank; Jeffrey, of Highlands; and three grandchildren; Elaina and Cameron Cruz and Lilly Richmond.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford. A private cremation will follow.
