William Raymond Lane Senior, "Rusty" or "Bill" to his friends, a man of many accomplishments, passed away peacefully this past Friday, August 4, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving children and family. He was a proud and dedicated husband, loving father and committed friend.
Rusty was born in Virginia in August 29, 1926. He was the son of Bonnie Donelson and O'Conley Lane as well as brother to Ralph, Mary and Robert. He is preceded in death by his wife Estella, grandson Bobby Moore, his parents, brother and sister. He is survived by his daughter Bonnie and Jim Tummino, Son Billy and Nancy Lane, Daughter Sherry Holman, and daughter Donna and Bob Moore, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many family and friends.
He lived a colorful and adventurous life. In his teens, he served for the US Army in World War II where he was mostly stationed in the Philippines, which lead to an fond connection for any and all filipino people that he met. After service, he went to work at a general electric company where he met Estella, and shortly after asked for her hand in marriage. He was married to his love Estella Lane for 60 years. He loved his family and friends. He loved living life, traveling and people. Due of his friendly nature, he truly never met a stranger. He had many stories of meeting politicians and exploring places others will only hear about .
Rusty lived in New Jersey, with his wife Estella, for 60 years. During that time, he became a proud and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He enjoyed practical jokes, pranks and loved sharing his past experiences with others. He loved to tinker in his garage and build or modify things, as he was quite the creative handyman. He was quite unique, charming, and a great storyteller. His first impressions were always lasting impressions. He will be remembered fondly and be missed greatly by many.
We would like to thank Rusty's family and friends for helping him live an incredible 90 years.
