William E. Westerberg, Sr., 62, of Port Monmouth, passed away Friday, July 5th, at home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. William was born in Red Bank, on April 23, 1957, a son of the late Ruth and Leonard Westerberg, Sr. He was raised in Middletown and settled in Port Monmouth 30 years ago. Bill was a custodian at Middletown Township Board of Education. Prior to that, Bill was a sheet rocker with BG & L Drywall and Quality Drywall. Bill enjoyed building things, besides his contracting work, he was a skilled carpenter. When he was not working, he enjoyed doing puzzles, weight lifting, listening to music, especially AC/DC and cheering on his favorite team, the Greenbay Packers, but most of all, he loved being with his family.
William is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Lorraine Westerberg, and their two sons; William, Jr., and his wife Veronica, and Paul Westerberg, all of Port Monmouth. William also leaves behind his sister , Ruthanne DiBona, of Florida and 3 granddaughters; Rebecca, Madison, and Ashlyn. He was predeceased by his brother Leonard.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 2 pm on Saturday, July 13th at Leonardo Baptist Church, Leonard Ave and Highland Ave., Leonardo, NJ.
