Yolanda Medoro, 87, of Union Beach, passed away Sunday, October 16th, peacefully at her home. Yolanda was born in Isernia, Italy and brought her young family to America after her husband Michael Cianchetta passed away over 50 years ago. Upon coming to America, she met her second husband Casimo Medoro, a man with a big heart who not only married Yolanda, but also her 6 young children and later had two more of their own. Yolanda worked as a seamstress alongside her husband in Keyport for a company that manufactured painter's garments. Yolanda was know for her delicious home-cooked meals, her beautiful sense of humor and for being such a warm and caring woman. She was also a meticulous gardener who won an award from the township of Union Beach for her home's landscaping. Besides being a proud Mother , Grandmother , gardener and cook, Yolanda was proud to be an American citizen and became a legal citizen in the 1980's.
Yolanda was predeceased by her first husband, Michael Cianchetta in Italy over 50 years ago and her beloved second husband Casimo Medoro in 1995.
Yolanda is survived by three daughters, Antoinette Cianchetta, of Italy; Mafalda (Gerald) Tucci, of Las Vegas; Raffaela (Jaime) Santiago, of Hazlet; four sons Nicola (Lina) Cianchetta, of Morganville; Antonio Cianchetta, of New Orleans; Mario Cianchetta, of Highlands; and Anthony (Laurie) Medoro, of Port Monmouth. She was predeceased by her daughter Rita in 1994 and is survived by her son-in-law Mitch Brynkiewicz. Yolanda also leaves behind her sister Mafalda DelBianco, of South Carolina; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals, 153 Church St., Belford . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church at 10 am on Wednesday, October 19th.
Burial and committal will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Keyport.
